April 30 – May 7, 2017

The Homegrown Music Festival is Duluth’s annual showcase of rawk and/or roll. It began as a simple birthday party with a handful of bands and a bunch of beer. Now it’s a complete bureaucracy, run by a volunteer steering committee and a board of directors, featuring 200 musical acts, along with a few filmmakers and other artists.

Earn a free pass to homegrown and your video screened at Zinema 2.

Here is how it works:

1. You fill out the short form below.

2. You will be assigned a song from a local band at random on March 1.

3. You have until April 15 (tax day!) to make a music video from that song. (and you can NOT change the song in any way)

4. You turn in your completed video to the Zinema 2 movie theater by April 15 and you receive a free wristband to the Homegrown Music festival.

5. Your film will be screened on the Monday of Homegrown.
