Minneapolis-based transgender musician Venus de Mars hails from Duluth. She has been performing as a celebrated visual artist and musician since the 1980s. Her glam-punk trans-band All the Pretty Horses formed in 1993 in Minneapolis. Their most recent album, a six-song LP called I Think the Darkness, was released in 2022, and two other albums were remastered last year. Current members joining de Mars are bass guitarist Danimae Vossen and drummer Jonathan Townsend. Performer Kat Morgan will be joined by an additional dancer at Homegrown.
